vol I: inaugural dinner

joel cox / the final spins / troy gua

tuesday, september 15th 2009. 7pm.

joel cox is a butcher, a cook, and an italophile. he has worked in the kitchens at lark and spinasse, on kurtwood farms, and trained extensively in italy with famed butcher dario cecchini. – WR

the final spins is a rock band, fronted by the dashing joe syverson, formerly of throw me the statue. reminiscent of yo la tengo, pedro the lion, and guided by voices, joe's baritone voice anchors the well-constructed driving pop. this show will feature a unique two person lineup, in contrast with their full band sound. – DJ & SJ

troy gua is an artist. his pop-hyrbrids are hyper-graphic iconic images in perfectly matched complementary colors, creating a camouflage of acrylic. troy shows at seattle art museum gallery, the hideout and various other respected galleries and experimental art spaces. – JV
